Xavier Catholic School K-8th

 

Xavier Catholic School K-8th grade is located at 541 Muncie Road and is a first-rate academic program that is focused on 21st Century skills. Xavier's curriculum is aligned with the faith-based standards set by the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

In addition to core subjects, Xavier offers Band, Music, P.E., Technology, Library, Study Hall, Art, Digital Photography and  Yearbook.

Xavier has an 18:1 student - teacher ratio. Teachers have high expectations and disruptions are handled in a timely and age-appropriate manner.

 

Accreditation  

Xavier Catholic School is accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education and AdvancED. Continuous improvement is a cornerstone of our school. 

Associations

Xavier is a member of the National Catholic Education Association and the Military Child Coalition.

Technology

Technology includes local area networks, wireless internet access in every room (from Kindergarten to 8th grade) and a staff dedicated to the integration of technology into every subject area. 

Our library has a web-based catalog program.  Classrooms have computers, including newly upgraded labs for K-8th grades and two wireless mobile labs for K-8th grades. These computers are for individual student use and group collaboration. Document cameras are available for 3rd-8th grades.  K -2nd has a mobile iPad Cart and 5th -8th grade are equipped with individual 2-n-1's.  Xavier is also equipped with updated SMART Boards in every classroom.  

Progressive technology curriculum emphasizes technology as a tool for learning and communicating.  K-8th grade students learn coding and will be programming our "Dot" and "Dash" robots. Students are learning 21st Century skills that are needed for success in the future.

Assessments

National Catholic Education Association
Assessment of Children/Youth Religious Education (ACRE)

Xavier has standardized testing in religious education.  ACRE is used to assess our 5th and 8th grade students. 

Students are administered the Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress, NWEA MAP, growth assessment three times a year. 

 

Each year students are administered the Kansas State Department of Education Kansas Assessments.
